Special Piobaireachd Friday: Caber Feidh Gu Brath
Consider yourselves lucky, piobaireachd fans: this is your second tune this week, and it comes from an undisputed master of the genre: Roddy MacLeod. Roddy’s instructing this week at a piping school in Virginia, and in an informal recital on Tuesday evening played the Donald MacLeod tune Caber Feidh Gu Brath. You can always count on him to have a great bagpipe, and the playing was fantastic.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what bagpipes are supposed to sound like.

That was awesome!!! I’ve been looking for a recording of this piobaireachd for some time. I think you might have one of the only full recordings on the net, and by a phenomenal player none the less. Thanks for sharing this.

I was taught by Norman Gillies and played with and alongside Alasdair Gillies on many an occasion, a sad loss to the piping world. As expected we all gave him a good send off on a very moving day. Please email me the music to Cabar Feidh Gu Brath or tell me where to obtain in print.

In my humble opinion the greatest Piobaireachd tune ever written and from the 20th century .Piobaireachd alive relevant modern and so musical.The powers that be such as An Commun should ensure with all the resources they have they should promote this great link between Gaelic word and piping .
